According to Vice.com’s article, 40% of people who find USB thumb drives are so curious they just have to plug them into their computer to find out what is on it.  This is leading illegal hackers in Australia to mail out USB drives which contain Trojan horses and/or viruses.  See the link here…

It is important that you never put a USB drive into your computer that you do not have complete confidence in using.  In fact many companies disable the USB ports on their office computers specifically to combat this problem.  Either way you should have training and company policy in your office to instruct employees to never put a USB drive in the office computer if you find it laying around the office or do not know where it came from.
